Our speaker for the next Coffee with the President will be Dr. Laila Rashidi, assistant professor and colon and rectal surgeon. She will present “Colorectal Surgery in the Age of Minimal Invasive Surgery”. Not a topic many want to talk about but colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. Every year, about 140,000 Americans get colorectal cancer, and more than 50,000 people die from it. More than 90 percent of colorectal cancers occur in people aged 50 and older. Dr. Rashidi is a highly rated health care provider who practices at UTMB clinics in both Angleton and the League City region.
